Under-strength Rovers lose league opener

Clonaslee Utd 5, Tullamore Rovers 1.

A very under-strength Tullamore Rovers went down 5-1 to one of the league favourites Clonaslee Utd. With Rovers missing six first team players for this encounter it was always going to be an uphill struggle.
Being 4-0 down at half-time resulted in a number a substitutions being made. Rovers were a completely different team in the second half and played some great football but all was to late. A well worked goal for rovers, scored by new signing J.P O'Leary, showed just what rovers should be capable of on their day.
With a full strenght team expected for the first home game of the season against Cloneygowan hopefully Rovers will get a decent result.
Fingers crossed!!!
